{"id":16357,"date":"2022-06-08T09:12:44","date_gmt":"2022-06-08T07:12:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bibetech.it\/?p=16357"},"modified":"2025-06-03T10:26:57","modified_gmt":"2025-06-03T08:26:57","slug":"3-million-euros-for-the-restart-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bibetech.it\/en\/3-million-euros-for-the-restart-project\/","title":{"rendered":"3 million euros for the Restart project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-16371 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bibetech.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/LIFE-RESTART-GdV-08.06.22-01-1-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1523\" height=\"2560\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Research and sustainability, a European project funded with 3 million euros: Bibetech experiments with the University of Messina to create eco-friendly bioplastic products obtained from beer waste<\/h3>\n<p>From the waste from beer production in Messina, ecological, sustainable and high-quality bioplastic products will be created in Montecchio Maggiore.<\/p>\n<p>The project \u201cRecovery&amp;Reuse of BEer SpenT Grain for Bioplastics (Life Restart)\u201d in which the Bibetech group participates as a partner has been funded with 3 million euros.<\/p>\n<p>The project, which unites Sicily and Veneto, is part of the \u201cProgramme for the Environment and Climate Action &#8211; LIfe\u201d, will last 36 months and will be coordinated by the Fondazione di Comunit\u00e0 di Messina Onlus with the participation of the University of Messina and in particular the Department of Engineering, the Messina Brewery, the Ecos-Med social cooperative and Crossing Srl of Venice.<\/p>\n<p>The biobased plastic material will be produced in Messina and subsequently taken to the Bibetech plant in Montecchio; here the material will be studied and analyzed and molding tests will be carried out to evaluate the best use in the productions deemed most suitable based on the outcome of the research. Based on the performance study, the final product and its possible positioning on the market at the end of the research path will be defined.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very pleased with the launch of a project in which we firmly believe because it represents a step forward on the path to sustainability and zero impact on the environment, since waste is used to produce a biodegradable material &#8211; comments Luca Biasiolo, CEO of the Bibetech Group -. For us, research is a fundamental component for developing innovative and eco-friendly processes and products and I believe it is plausible that within five years all the packaging we produce will be biodegradable. We have started partnerships with universities, research centers and large private companies, not only in Italy, to be protagonists of experiments capable of finding solutions that allow us to reconcile environmental sustainability with the economic sustainability of products. For this interesting project, our thanks go in particular to Dr. Loris Tessari and Studio Promozioni, which identified an important opportunity and supported us in the presentation of the Life project.
